In the context of Corporate Social Responsibility, the students of the department Hairdressing Technician of IEK DIMITRA together with their trainers had the opportunity to be informed about the ecological action of Restia and the use of the ecological filter Restia which is created by recycling hair clippings for water decontamination. 

The students of IEK DIMITRA became aware of environmental issues and wanted to support in practice through the profession they chose to study the action of Restia, participating in hair recycling in order to create the carpet and the Restia filter.

Dimitrios Girtzalis, the inspirer of Restia and its president, is a responsible and ecologically active citizen of our country. On the occasion of the shipwreck of 2017 in domestic waters and knowing the "magic" property of the hair to collect oils while being a hairdresser by profession, he thought that the industry that is active in such an unfortunate event could offer something.

The hair has the property / ability to absorb from 3 to 9 times its weight in oils. Restia uses this property of the hair to absorb oils to collect oil and its derivatives from seas and coasts, shipyards and refineries.

Ecological consciousness is something that is cultivated and built and IEK DIMITRA together with its students will always support such actions.
